Tony Osterhaus

Executive Director, Client Partnerships

Tony serves as Executive Director of Client Partnerships and is responsible for the quality of delivery and profitability of all professional services projects, ensuring that the Client Partnership team is set up for success to meet client goals and objectives on a variety of initiatives. He works closely with department heads throughout the organization to ensure that the agency has staff members properly resourced on all projects to best guarantee client and Imaginuity success. “I get so much energy out of working with Imaginarians and clients to figure out the answer to some challenge that is holding a company back, or that could change the way they go to market and serve their customers, or that creates new efficiencies so they can do more with less,” Tony says.

Tony graduated from the University of Iowa with a bachelor’s degree in Business Science and Management Information Systems. He has spent 20 years leading strategic planning, direction, and implementation for a wide set of clients, including SonicWall, Jones Lang LaSalle, Otterbox, TXU Energy, and Entrust since joining Imaginuity. Regarding what he enjoys most about Imaginuity, Tony says, “The people, hands down. It is a collection of smart, talented people who genuinely care about each other and the clients they work with. Beyond the intellect and hard work, I see on a daily basis people reaching down to pick someone up who made a mistake or fell behind in workload; or I see people propping other people up when they do something great for the team or their client, sharing the success so others can go try to do the same.”

Outside of Imaginuity, Tony enjoys coaching his kids and their friends in various youth sports. “I stay active with recreational sports, the occasional round of golf or an intense game of ‘horse’ in pool basketball with my kids. If it’s date night with my wife, chances are I’m in my boots and there is live music involved. My sports-fan pinnacle (so far) was watching my beloved Chicago Cubs win the World Series!” Tony also considers himself to be lucky to be a part of a group of friends who host annual fundraisers for breast cancer research and Alzheimer’s disease research.

Career Advice...

“When I started in the consulting industry I admitted to one of the founders of my company at the time that I was nervous that I didn’t belong in the room with “all of these smart people” as I classified them. A smirk came across his face and he said, “you wouldn’t be here if we didn’t think you belonged in this room. You have to trust that either you know what to do or that you will figure out what to do; and this room is full of people that will happily help you if you are truly stuck.” It was such a simple (and looking back, somewhat obvious) answer but it gave me the confidence I needed; and at each major step up in my career I’ve leaned back on that advice to remind myself that I did earn my seat at that next table.”
