Charlie Calise

Chairman

As Chairman of the Board at Imaginuity, Charlie’s responsibilities include overseeing the strategic direction of the company and ensuring that the organization has the financial resources and talent required to deliver transformative results for our clients. “As a classically trained account guy, I get the most energy out of solving complex business problems,” remarks Charlie.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Advertising from Florida State University, Charlie started his career as a Media Planner in the Ted Bates Atlanta office, working on the Coca-Cola USA business. He moved to Dallas to join Publicis, where he worked on packaged goods brands such as Fresca, Mello Yello, Coppertone, and Nestlé. “In 1991, I had the itch to run my own show, and after 30+ years and various iterations of the agency, I get to live the dream of loving my job at Imaginuity,” says Charlie. “I'm most passionate about the people that work at Imaginuity and the complex business problems we solve. I am amazed in meeting after meeting with how our teams collaborate, breaking from conventional thinking while leveraging data and ingenuity to solve unprecedented business challenges for our clients.”

Speaking more on Imaginuity, Charlie says, “Sometimes I think the goings-on in this agency could be a Netflix series like Suits. What I enjoy most is watching young, insanely smart people, armed with data, walk into a conference room and drop the mic in a client meeting. I see it every day, and it never gets old.”

When asked what he does outside of office hours, Charlie replies, “I can't get enough of my wife or grandkids. We are a tight family with always something to look forward to. We travel incessantly, dine out, and cook with friends or family, but my one and only hobby is fishing. I could wet a line every day.”

Career Advice...

“Advice seems harder to hear these days. We are all accustomed to instant news, instant delivery, real-time social posts—we expect everything right now. Success is not instant; you have to put in the work. ‘Wait’ is another piece of good advice. We generally think ‘yes’ or ‘no,’ ‘do or don’t.’ Sometimes, the answer is to wait. The time may not be right, or there is a better opportunity around the corner. Waiting is often a good option.”
